For Prada FW25 set designAMO, the research and design studio of OMA, surrounds the Fondazione Prada’s Deposito with scaffolding structures and the tactile blue carpet made by Catherine Martin. Attendees to the show sit on concrete benches, and models strut on the three levels of AMO’s scaffolding set. Brightening up the industrial metal structures is the floral-inspired carpet by Catherine Martin. The shades of cream detailing the illustrations add a flash of color to the construction-grade style of the set, to the metal scaffoldings and the concrete benches.

AMO’s set design for Prada’s FW25 menswear show differs from the previous years by a mile. During SS24, they create a waterfall of thick, translucent resin around the still industrial-looking space. Unlike the recent one, the show lacks visual obstruction because metal poles aren’t present. An office space maze above a glass-covered garden becomes AMO’s theme for Prada’s set design during FW24. Amidst this, the calming scenery below may not reflect the cramped-looking seating space of the viewers. AMO then attempts a more fairytale approach to Prada’s SS25 set design and menswear show with the use of a white hut and twisty runway routes.

Shifting lighting from white to red for filmic effects

Exploration of contrast is a focal point for Prada’s FW25 set design by AMO. Viewers see it with the use of the industrial scaffoldings and the tactile rugs by Catherine Martin: the gray against the blue. The white light meets the occasional rays of neon red glow. The dark areas across the set design appear around the viewers’ seating space as the white light casts its glow onto the runway paths. Unlike the previous Prada set design by AMO, the FW25 show has a series of levels dividing the space, allowing the fashion brand to showcase their collections more than once.

The scaffolding structures underline the scale of the monumental Deposito space at Fondazione Prada. Viewers note how sizable and multipurpose it is, which is one of the many themes the fashion brand wants to bring to the FW25 menswear show. The presence of shifting lighting from white to red and vice-versa adds filmic effects to the set design as Prada and AMO attempts to evoke ‘intimacies.’ They want to showcase ‘the closeness of a club. These become representative of places for the most direct of human instincts, our need to come together,’ says Prada.
